Woke up today, and it was pouring! Walked the fifteen minutes to school and my capris were soaking wet. Found out there was no school and walked back and completely changed clothes. It's kind of funny that they cancel school for rain, even if it was pouring, because it seems like rain wouldn't be a big deal for them here. Kind of like in Texas, how snow is such a big deal that the littlest amount will get school cancelled, while some other states would practically shovel their own path to school. I would think this would be like "other states" since rain is so common, but it must be because the kids walk to school, and rain kind of floods the pathways, that it sometimes gets cancelled. The thing about being at a private school, though, is that we find out when it's cancelled about the time that school is supposed to START, after all the public schools have been told. Most kids just don't show up anyway, so it's not like they're making the trek in the rain only to have to turn around.
I got back to the Jungle Barn and spent all day holed up in my room, reading and reading and reading. Lauren, Anderson, and I finally went to eat at about 5:00 and then went next door to watch a movie. Now it's sleepy time!
Oh, but when I got back, I found my first Jungle Barn roommate! Here he is!
